Job Description The Assistant Community Manager supports the Community Manager in overseeing and managing financial and operational facets of the community. Responsibilities include accounting and reporting tasks, monthly close‑out and financial reports, processing invoices, collecting rent and fees, bank deposits, reconciliations, and using the property management system to record, track, and report all financial activities.
Essential Roles You Will Play
Supports leasing and marketing efforts, completing the full leasing cycle to achieve revenue and occupancy goals.
Completes daily financial transactions, reviews and submits vendor invoices for payment, and reconciles work performed or products purchased.
Gathers, analyzes, and interprets market and economic trends that may impact the property and recommends improvements.
Leases enforcement, including inspections, evictions, collections, notifications, and other processes as outlined in the lease agreement.
Client/owner management, conducting property tours and providing updates on performance.
Oversees safety, cleanliness, and general appearance; reports mechanical and electrical malfunctions and injuries.
Acts as on‑site supervisor in the Community Manager’s absence, coordinating daily work, maintenance, and community operations.
Stays informed about market conditions, develops marketing plans, and follows policies related to concessions and specials.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Hours and Work Environment 40 hours per week. Schedule may vary by site.
Monday – Friday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Essential Requirements
Must be available to work weekends when scheduled and perform essential functions unaccompanied.
Works in both office and outdoor environments; may encounter unpleasant temperatures, odors, or hazards.
Qualifications Summary To succeed, you should have a high school diploma or GED, experience in property management, sales, marketing, or customer service, and strong communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs, and strong skill in property management software such as Entrata Yardi or One Site, is required.
Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED. Preferred experience in property management, sales, marketing, and customer service.
Licenses and Certificates Requirements Valid driver’s license. No certifications required.
Physical Requirements Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights up to 20 pounds independently and 50 pounds with assistance. Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, squatting, and intermittent sitting for keyboard work. Routine local travel may be required.
