Pulling a tanker to designated customer/supplier location using designated routes. Delivering product safely by understanding and following SOPs. Maintaining a professional appearance for yourself and Bakelite’s equipment. Adhering to all rules and regulations of both Bakelite and DOT to safely operate company cargo tank vehicles. Maintaining a clean driving record while providing exceptional customer focus to both internal and external customers. Safely loading and off-loading chemical products. Work schedules can include variable start times, weekends, and holidays, according to DOT driver regulations.
Responsibilities and Core Value Alignment
You’ll value safety. You’ll maintain a good safety record concerning accidents or incidents demonstrating a strong commitment to safety protocols and regulations in hazardous material transportation. Efficient Delivery. You’ll aim to achieve a high on-time delivery rate, ensuring timely and reliable service for clients while optimizing route planning to reduce fuel consumption. Regulatory Compliance. You’ll consistently adhere to all federal and state regulations regarding hazardous materials, resulting in successful inspections and a reputation for reliability among clients and regulatory agencies.
What is Needed to be Successful in this Role (Required Skills/Abilities)
Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Current Class A Commercial Driver's License. Minimum of two (2) years verifiable commercial driving experience. Has one (1) or fewer chargeable or preventable motor vehicle accidents within the year preceding the date of application. Has one (1) or fewer violations of motor vehicle laws (other than violations involving parking only) within the year preceding the date of application. Must have all required DOT certifications by hire date to include Tanker Endorsement, HazMat Endorsement, and Valid DOT Medical Card. Must comply with facial hair guidelines for respirator usage (clean shaven). Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ELD (Electronic Logging Device). One (1) or more years of experience driving a Cargo Tank. Experience handling of hazardous materials.
