Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager; position is non-exempt
WHO YOU ARE You have mastered the art and science of mixology and understand that a great bar experience is as much about the people as it is about the drinks. You lead by example, crafting perfectly balanced cocktails, making thoughtful wine and spirit recommendations, and building genuine relationships with guests. You thrive on mentoring and inspiring your team, helping them grow their skills and create memorable experiences for every guest.
In your downtime, you’re continually expanding your knowledge whether it’s studying spirits, exploring cocktail history, or discovering innovative recipes from the world’s best bars. You take pride in being the face of the bar, cultivating loyal guests who come to see you for celebrations, comfort, or simply a familiar friendly smile. You are welcoming, professional, and embody gracious hospitality at all times, creating an environment where both guests and your team feel valued and inspired.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
2+ years of bartending experience in an upscale, high-volume, or hotel environment.
Prior lead bartender or supervisory experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and bar operations.
Organized, reliable, and comfortable balancing floor leadership with administrative tasks.
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Passion for hospitality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally
Additional Requirements:
Continuous standing and walking and negotiating wet tile floor and steps
Fine motor coordination is needed to pour beverages, decorate cocktails and folding napkins
Standing and walking is continuous for 4-5 hours at a time
Lifting and carrying 30 lb. tray, crate or box is occasional
Negotiating varied floor surfaces is continuous
Carrying over shoulder is occasional
Hand and elbow movements for polishing glassware, silver, setting up tables, shacking, pouring and mixing drinks
Excellent sight and balance needed for negotiating varied floor surfaces
Handling lighted candles, and handling hot fluids (coffee and tea)
Ability to lift, balance and carry up to 25 lbs. to transport beverage goods inventory, equipment, etc.
Ability to lift, balance and carry (with assistance) up to 100 lbs. to transport beverage inventory, equipment, etc.
Must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10*F) and kitchens (+110*F)

THE ROLE The Bar Supervisor is a hands-on, hourly leadership position that blends lead bartender responsibilities with key supervisory and operational duties. This role supports the beverage program by leading the bar team on the floor, contributing to cocktail development, and assisting with scheduling, ordering, and MOD coverage. The ideal candidate is a strong bartender with natural leadership skills who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced, and service-driven environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Uphold and model the company’s principles of People, Place and Character by being proud of who you are, where you come from and who we serve at our hotel
Be collaborative with your co-workers and leaders and use your intuition to fix things when you know they are not right or could be better
Be a storyteller of the history of Haya hotel and share our translocal hospitality efforts about our local collaborators and partners
Participate in daily line ups and quarterly all staff meetings to further develop ideas and objectives with the service team while simultaneously providing constructive feedback and strategizing to overcome and correct any previously missed opportunities
Lead bar shifts with confidence, professionalism, and a guest-first mindset.
Act as a mentor and resource for the bar team, reinforcing service standards and beverage knowledge.
Support onboarding, training, and continued development of bartenders.
Serve as a positive culture carrier aligned with Hotel Haya and Aparium values.
Act as Manager-on-Duty on assigned days
Support daily operations, including guest relations, staff questions, and issue resolution.
Ensure opening and closing procedures are followed consistently and accurately.
Create and manage the bar team schedule in alignment with business needs and labor goals.
Handle LBW (Liquor, Beer, Wine) ordering and inventory management.
Maintain strong relationships with distributor partners and ensure accurate ordering and rotation.
Lead and collaborate on cocktail menu updates
Assist with recipe development, costing, testing, and implementation.
Train the team on new cocktails, spirits, and menu changes.
Monitor sales trends and guest feedback to support menu evolution.
Deliver warm, polished, and knowledgeable service at all times.
Address guest feedback or concerns promptly and professionally.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and visual standards behind the bar and in guest-facing areas.
Assist with performance feedback and documentation as needed.
Communicate updates and expectations clearly to the bar team.
Participate in meetings and ongoing operational improvements.
