Front Desk Receptionist (Dermatology Clinic) - Tampa, FL

Position:
Full-time Front Desk Receptionist.
Location:
South Tampa, FL.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities
Check patients in and out, verify and update insurance and personal information.
Schedule and confirm appointments.
Collect copays and assist with billing and insurance information.
Maintain patient charts and perform general office support.
Greet patients and provide friendly, professional interaction.
Screen calls, take accurate phone messages, and schedule appointments and referrals.
Enter patient demographics and verify chart data for accuracy.
Communicate with patients and manage reception area flow.
Collect patient payments proactively and reconcile at end of day.
Track inventory, update product inventory weekly, fulfill orders.
Distribute incoming reports and correspondence, address phone messages, faxes, and mail.
Assist other staff as needed and perform other duties assigned.
Duties/Responsibilities
Greet each patient pleasantly and professionally.
Screen calls, schedule appointments and referrals.
Take accurate, concise phone messages.
Enter complete patient demographics when making appointments.
Verify all chart information, signatures, and completeness.
Check‑in and check‑out patients.
Communicate with patients as needed and track flow.
Proactively collect patient payments.
Update product inventory weekly.
Treat patients with dignity and empathy.
Fulfill inventory orders.
Run end‑of‑day reports and balance payment totals.
Distribute incoming reports and correspondence in patient charts.
Address all phone messages, faxes, interdepartmental mail immediately.
Assist other staff; perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Graduate or GED (required).
At least 2 years of customer service experience.
1–3 years recent experience as a Medical Receptionist in a clinical or surgical setting (preferred).
Previous experience in Dermatology (preferred).
Skills and Abilities
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Knowledge of HIPAA standards.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to function well in a fast‑paced and stressful environment.
Detail‑oriented.
Working knowledge of a multi‑line phone system.
Proficiency with standard office equipment (computer, fax, copier, scanner, etc.).
Intermediate computer skills and EMR utilization.
Fluent in English.
Ability to sort and file materials correctly alphabetically or numerically.
Ability to travel to and provide coverage for other local offices as‑needed.
Physical Requirements
Sitting, some standing, stooping, and reaching.
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard.
Correctable vision to 20/20 and hearing within normal range for telephone contacts.
Lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
