Pay range for this position is
$29.81-$46.21hour . Actual pay is based on skills, direct and indirect experience and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
Overview 12-16 hours a week - Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
This position requires med-surg experience.
POSITION SUMMARY:
A College of Nursing Adjunct Instructor is a member of the academic faculty entrusted with the development, implementation, and evaluation of the College’s program(s) curricula. An adjunct instructor serves the College, its students, faculty, staff, the profession, and community. An adjunct instructor is expected to contribute and support nursing scholarship. Each faculty member is expected to abide by and promote the Mission, philosophy, and expected outcomes of the College and its programs within the philosophic framework and policies of OSF Healthcare and the College Board. Adjunct faculty appointments reflect a limited assignment for one or more specific courses and/or semesters
Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in area of teaching (Graduate degree in nursing if teaching in area of nursing)
Evidence of continued self-development within profession
Two years experience in clinical nursing practice if teaching in area of nursing
Medical/Surgical background
Knowledge of subject matter in assigned areas
Experience commensurate with area of teaching responsibility
Behavior reflecting "Code of Ethics for Nurses" (American Nurses Association, 2008)
Strong organizational, communication and teaching skills
Current, unencumbered RN license in Illinois if responsible for teaching nursing
Current CPR if teaching clinical nursing
Continues to increase knowledge base through advanced academic preparation and continuing education
Meets annual and long-term goals for professional development and personal growth
Mission and Regulatory (e.g., JCAHO, OSHA) requirements per OSF SAMC
Workshops and conferences as needed for continued licensure
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Baccalaureate or graduate education teaching experience
