Overview
Summer Camp Assistant Teacher for STEM / Technology Camps. We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals to work as Assistant Instructors in our Summer STEM programs. Summer seasonal position (4-10 weeks) starting in June. In-room with kids ages 6-14. PAID training! No formal experience required. Spend the summer with our AMAZING students having fun with STEM & Baking! Black Rocket provides unique educational programs to children and young adults. Our distinct enrichment programs focus on the intersection of creativity and technology. Each course emphasizes self-empowerment, critical thinking, and creative problem solving through hands-on learning. We begin recruiting for summer in January and positions are filled on a rolling basis. Must be authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to offer accommodations or work sponsorship. Availability to start online training in May prior to the start of summer (train at your own pace via our online portal). 18 years of age or older. College students studying education, culinary arts, biology, chemistry, engineering, or other STEM related fields encouraged to apply. Responsibilities
Assist instructors in Summer STEM programs and support hands-on, project-based activities. Work in-room with children ages 6-14 and ensure a safe, engaging learning environment. Participate in paid training and online training prior to the start of the summer program. Support program delivery across multiple locations as needed and adhere to scheduling (minimum 4 weeks, Monday through Friday). Foster curiosity, creativity, and collaboration among campers. Qualifications
18 years of age or older. College students studying education, culinary arts, biology, chemistry, engineering, or other STEM-related fields encouraged to apply. Strong science or baking background with familiarity in experimentation, the scientific method, engineering concepts, creative thinking, and/or baking. Experience with kids in educational, formal, or informal settings is a plus (e.g., babysitting, volunteering, coaching, tutoring). Strong interest in technology and education; ability to troubleshoot and support learners on technology and creative projects. Must be available to start online training in May and commit to the role for the summer season. Rate and Benefits
Rate: $13-$15/hr. Paid training available. Possible opportunities to move into lead teaching roles or supervisory roles in future years.
