An effective Vocational Teacher works with the Lead Teacher to manage and lead school instructional operations and provides instructional leadership to peers and other instructional support staff. The candidate will oversee the instructional vocational program in the facility, ensure program goals and requirements are met, and provide resources to staff to meet curriculum needs and student support requirements. The role includes developing and implementing an effective instructional model incorporating a blended teaching approach. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned. Uphold educational policies and integrate the common core government guidelines into each class curriculum. Create benchmarks for students, track progress toward those goals, and report student achievement as required by the Principal. Develop programs that improve staff performance resulting in student and organizational success. Provide guidance to the school’s network of instructional leaders and challenge leaders to improve the school. Respond immediately to concerns from students, school administrators or facilities managers. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in at least one core content area. Certification is required in ESL by the relevant governing authority. English as a second language certification or any additional training is preferred. Minimum of two years of work experience. Language and Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials; ability to write reports and business correspondence; ability to present information to groups. Mathematical skills include basic geometry, percentages, and data interpretation. Reasoning ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions. Computer skills include knowledge of Microsoft Office, Paycom, and Electronic Case Management software. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Texas Driver's License. Have a record of tuberculosis screening showing the employee is free of contagious TB. Physical Demands and Work Environment
