Responsibilities
Assess educational needs of youth: develop and implement lesson plans to address those needs to include individualized assignments and training.
Provide instruction with individual assistance.
Counsel students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems.
Organize and/or monitor extracurricular activities if assigned.
Qualifications / Levels
Teacher 1 must have baccalaureate degree or less; Starting pay $66,726
Teacher 2 must have a baccalaureate degree & 20 additional quarter hrs. but less than master’s degree;
Teacher 3 must have master’s degree;
Teacher 4 must have master’s degree & 30 hrs. of post-graduate study;
Note: Applicant must successfully obtain Teacher Certificate or License prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Leadership, commitment to excellence, professionalism, strong interpersonal communication skills, good judgment of people and situations, change agent, excellent customer service, trauma-responsive, and solution driven
Able to use current technology, including computers
Interest in professional growth and development
Knowledge of ODE Academic Content Standards and project-based personalized learning
Competent in curriculum building and program improvement in content, methods, and materials

Location: Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility, Massillon, OH
Compensation: $67,000 - $113,000
Schedule: Full-time
Work Hours: 40 hours per week
Primary Location: United States of America-OHIO-Stark County-Massillon
Additional Benefits
Intersession leave – 40 days off per year; 186 student days
Comprehensive paid training will be provided to the selected candidate
Additional personal and sick leave
No study hall/lunch supervisory responsibilities
Signing incentive: $5,000
