SR. CUSTODIAN

Probationary appointment: 12 months
Description of Duties
The Senior Custodian will work with the Senior Maintenance Mechanic and the Director of Facilities for the maintenance of the physical grounds to assure the safety, health and comfort of the students and staff.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Neat, clean in appearance, punctual, energetic, considerate and cooperative. Possess appropriate driver’s license. Ability to work with professional and support staff. Supervisory ability. Mechanical knowledge, HVAC knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years of experience in building cleaning and maintenance work, or two years of experience in any of the standard mechanical or construction trades or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Hiring Under The HELP PROGRAM
Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement. This temporary program allows for a waiver of Civil Service Examination for certain titles, in an effort to get qualified candidates quickly into vacant positions.
Incumbents will be granted competitive class status upon approval of Civil Service Rule XII-Certification for Appointment once incumbent has successfully completed six (6) months of service and completion of QIE – Qualified Incumbent Examination.
No written examination is required.
MUST meet minimum qualification of the position for which they are applying and any other conditions of employment.
