Job Title Laborer
Essential Job Duties
Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes.
Use other hand tools such as wrenches and hammers.
Tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment, or to heat and move materials such as asphalt.
Set pedestals and handholes.
Pull in conduit fiber‑optic cable and copper cable.
Operate potholing equipment.
Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
Clean and prepare work sites to eliminate possible hazards.
Enforce company and customer safety rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Support, comply with, and participate in the HSE Program.
Perform other duties as needed.
Job Requirements
A high‑school diploma or equivalent and 6 months of previous labor experience in a construction environment or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience in underground/aerial utilities construction preferred.
Must have a current, valid driver's license and be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance if needed.
Must have work boots (steel‑toed boots preferred but not required).
Hiring is contingent upon successfully passing a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, walk, lift overhead, work at heights, walk/work in rough terrain to access equipment, tools, materials, and jobsite in order to complete work. Must be able to lift 70 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity are necessary.
Job Type: Full‑time.
Salary: $20.00 per hour.
