Job Summary The nuclear operations plant instructor teaches and evaluates both initial and continuing training for operations personnel and other stakeholders. The instructor consults on all phases of the systematic approach to training, models and maintains training standards, and assists in detecting and correcting performance gaps.
Job Requirements
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science desirable
Current or previous SRO or RO license or certification at a commercial nuclear operating facility preferred
Background/Experience Requirements:
5+ years of commercial power plant experience, including a minimum of 1 year in a nuclear power plant
Knowledge of the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) preferred
BWR experience preferred
Knowledge of or participation in licensed operator requalification programs and examinations preferred
Major Job Responsibilities
Analyze jobs, tasks, and training to support new or modified requirements
Participate in performance gap analysis
Design objectives and evaluations
Develop training material
Implement training solutions
Evaluate effectiveness of individual training interventions
Ensure standards and expectations meet industry excellence and are reinforced in training and on shift
Close operations gaps to achieve excellence
Maintain accreditation for Operations Training Programs
Fill a designated position in the Emergency Response Organization
