Dairy/Dept. Leader
Kroger is seeking a Dairy/Dept. Leader to create an outstanding customer experience by embracing a Customer‑First strategy and encouraging associates to deliver excellent customer service. The role focuses on safety, sales, profitability, and quality assurance while fostering a culture of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. Responsibilities
Promote trust and respect among associates with a positive attitude. Communicate company, department and job‑specific information to associates. Establish performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet or exceed them. Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume during hours of operation. Train and develop associates, participating in the performance appraisal process. Adhere to all local, state, federal laws, food‑safety regulations and company guidelines. Create an environment that welcomes customers and provides product knowledge and suggestions. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items and inform them of specials. Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results. Understand the store layout and locate products efficiently. Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management. Educate associates on current, upcoming and special in‑store promotions. Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor. Implement the period promotional plan for the department. Assist with store/department budget, profit and loss reviews and take action on all financial reports. Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs. Plan and organize the inventory process, maintain awareness, and note discrepancies. Train associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering. Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep temperature logs. Enforce safety programs, practice preventive maintenance, and report unsafe conditions to management. Report safety risks, illegal activity, and accidents. Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment. Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information. Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues. Provide support for minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications
Must be 18 or older. Ability to handle stressful situations. Effective communication skills. Basic math (counting, addition, subtraction). Desired
High school education or equivalent preferred. Management experience preferred. Dairy experience. Retail experience. Second language (verbal, reading and/or writing). About Kroger
