Public Safety Officer Unarmed - FT Variable hrs
INTEGRIS Health, Oklahoma’s largest not‑for‑profit health system invites applications for a Public Safety Officer Unarmed in Woodward, OK. The role is Full Time Variable hours. In this position you’ll protect personnel and property within INTEGRIS Health buildings and on all contiguous grounds, prevent criminal or disruptive activity, control pedestrian and vehicle traffic, provide public service to patients, visitors and employees, and perform parking enforcement duties when directed. This position requires population‑specific competencies, adherence to National Patient Safety Goals, and a strong commitment to our mission of partnering with people to live healthier lives.
Responsibilities
Ensure all property and facilities are secure, and take proper action regarding unauthorized or illegal entry.
Control pedestrian and vehicle traffic, issue traffic citations, and conduct accident investigations when appropriate.
Provide public services such as motorist and patient assists and escorts to vehicles upon request.
Assist with fire drills and inspect the facility for hazardous or unsafe conditions.
Prepare written reports on events and properly document details.
Provide assistance at the helicopter pad during landings and emergencies.
Complete special projects and assignments designated by the Sergeant, Lieutenant and/or Public Safety Manager, ensuring employee regulations, policies, and procedures are followed regarding security and safety.
Assist clinical staff in restraining disruptive or violent patients.
Detain criminal suspects for the police when appropriate.
Physical Demands This position may have additional or varied physical demands and/or respiratory fit test requirements. You will interact in situations with combative persons, may participate in fire situations, bomb threat searches, work inside buildings where hazardous chemicals and gases are present, and outside in all weather conditions.
Qualifications
LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS (Required within specified timeframes):
CLEET‑Armed Security Guard License or CLEET‑Unarmed Security Guard License within 6 months of hire.
IAHSS‑Cert HC Security Supervisor (CHSS) within 1 year of hire.
IAHSS‑Cert Adv HC Security Officer (CAHSO) within 1 year of hire.
IAHSS‑HC Security Officer (CHSO) within 1 year of hire.
Skills:
MMPI or CPI psychological evaluation required post‑hire for Taser weapon evaluation.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
Must operate an INTEGRIS‑owned vehicle or a personal vehicle (non‑INTEGRIS‑owned) and possess a current Oklahoma State Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
1 year private security or police experience.
12 credit hours of college.
