Overview The Food & Beverage (F&B) Lead assists with the management of operations for one or more food and beverage locations throughout Splish Splash. Key day‑to‑day responsibilities include overseeing assigned F&B team members, food safety and sanitation, guest service, food preparation, monitoring financial transactions, and quality controls.
Responsibilities
Supervise the F&B team and any other assigned departments.
Lead by example, embodying Splish Splash core values.
Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members.
Become knowledgeable of the essential duties of all assigned F&B positions and fill in when necessary.
Participate in new‑hire orientation and training activities for all assigned employees.
Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are given in accordance with NY law.
Assist with team scheduling and time‑keeping activities.
Welcome all guests with a smile and positive attitude.
Perform opening and closing procedures of assigned unit(s) including food preparation and cleanup.
Practice, teach, and enforce proper food safety guidelines adhering to company policy and state/local Health Department requirements.
Maintain all alcohol safety practices when applicable.
Supervise preparation of all food items in accordance with recipes, standards, and costs.
Maintain compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures.
Handle and resolve escalated guest concerns and criticisms with a positive attitude.
Oversee quality controls and production of food items.
Manage inventory, focusing on portion and waste controls.
Check walk‑ins, reach‑ins, and dry storage for proper food storage, stock rotation, and temperature logs.
Interface with warehouse on product and supply needs.
Interface with maintenance on all equipment or physical plant needs.
Perform all other duties assigned by leadership.
Pay Rate: $20.50
Education & Experience
No formal education required.
Minimum 1+ years of work experience in food service, quick service, or restaurant settings.
Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
Previous amusement park, theme park, or waterpark experience is a plus.
Must become Food Handler Safety Certified (ServSafe or similar) or have such certification within 90 days of hire, when required by state and local guidelines.
Language
Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
Requirements
Must be at least 16 years of age to comply with New York Child Labor Laws.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must have reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts.
Ability to comply with all uniform policies.
Must possess a safety‑oriented mindset and understand the importance of complying with all state and local food preparation and serving regulations.
Must possess exceptional customer service skills and be able to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner.
Must be able to speak directly with guests when other F&B leadership is not present.
Ability to handle high‑pressure situations, meet constant deadlines, and coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must possess strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) technology and PCI compliance is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for the majority of the workday.
Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders.
Ability to withstand heat and humidity from food preparation equipment.
Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or more.
Working Conditions
Role will be based in one or more food stall and/or restaurant locations throughout the park, with exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments.
Subject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activities.
Frequent exposure to variable outdoor temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, and other weather conditions.
Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, and heavily populated environments.
