Wellness Lead – Family YMCA of Greater Augusta
Bring your passion for people, fitness, and fun to the Y!
At the Family YMCA of Greater Augusta, we're on a mission to strengthen community by helping people live healthier, happier lives. We're looking for a dynamic
Wellness Lead
who thrives on building relationships, creating innovative programs, and leading a team that inspires others to move, grow, and belong. What You'll Do
As our Wellness Lead, you'll be the driving force behind high-quality wellness programming for our members and community. You'll: Lead and energize a team of 10+ staff (during peak seasons). Create fun, innovative group exercise and wellness programs that keep members motivated and engaged. Be a visible role model on the wellness floor, inspiring healthy living by example. Make sure our facilities and equipment shine, because a safe, welcoming space matters. Support Y fundraising efforts and community campaigns (because wellness is about more than workouts). What We're Looking For
A leader with a passion for health, fitness, and community building. A HS diploma/GED required (2-year degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Rec, or Health preferred-but relevant experience works too!). Experience with group exercise, program development, or YMCA wellness programs. Certifications (or ability to obtain within 60 days): CPR/AED, BBP, and First Aid. Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills. Someone who can lift up to 50 lbs. A team player who thrives in both office and active fitness environments. Why Join Us?
When you work at the Y, you're not just taking a job, you're becoming part of a cause. We're a place where your work will: Change lives
by helping members reach their health and wellness goals. Grow your skills
through leadership opportunities and professional development. Make an impact
in a diverse, welcoming, and supportive community. YMCA Values in Action
We live by
Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
At the Y, you'll help ensure everyone-regardless of background-has the opportunity to thrive. The Details
This role requires some evening/weekend flexibility and occasional travel to trainings, workshops, and other YMCA branches. Drug-free workplace.
