Environmental Services Specialist – Wellness Center – Part Time
Kingman Regional Medical Center seeks an Environmental Services Specialist to work part‑time in the Wellness Center.
Position Details

Shift: Part Time – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8 p.m.–1 a.m., Saturday 4 p.m.–12:30 a.m.
Position Purpose All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in a manner that supports KHI’s vision of being among the kindest, highest‑quality health systems in the country. The Specialist assists in the assigned areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and KHI personnel by meeting and maintaining established medical, sterilization, and cleanliness protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Perform all duties, as assigned, for which employee is trained or qualified.
Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all applicable safety regulations.
Dispose of waste, including medical and biohazard waste, according to federal, state, organizational, and departmental guidelines.
Manage supplies and equipment efficiently and keep cleaning supplies and equipment safely stored when not in use, and away from patients’ access when in use.
Use cleaning chemicals according to federal, state, organizational, and departmental guidelines.
Comply with all federal, state, organizational, and departmental policies and procedures.
Participate in ongoing process improvement within the organization and department.
Demonstrate regular attendance and participation at scheduled department and team meetings or call in and personally notify the supervisor or another member of management if going to be either absent or tardy, unless unforeseeable circumstances make it impossible.
Consistently demonstrate the ability to adapt to changes in the workload.
Report problems to supervisor.
Housekeeping – Environmental Services
Clean and sanitize assigned patient rooms and bathrooms daily.
Clean, disinfect, and sanitize assigned areas, including moveable and stationary objects, as designated in procedures.
Reset assigned areas to present an attractive and sanitary environment for all customers (patients, visitors, staff, etc.).
Properly maintain the designated supply closet and work cart.
Keep cleaning supplies and equipment safely stored when not in use, and away from patients’ access when in use.
Laundry: maintain an adequate stock and flow of laundered materials throughout the organization, per policies, processes, and regulatory guidelines; maintain the laundry area in a clean and sanitary condition; use and maintain equipment safely, appropriately, and as efficiently as possible; document accurate records of items delivered to ensure accurate reporting.

Licensure: Designated drivers must have a valid US driver’s license (must be 21 years of age or older).
Experience: N/A
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be able to communicate well with a variety of customers.
Must be able to read and write well enough to respond appropriately during emergencies and complete mandatory competencies.
Must be able to manage multiple priorities and stressors in a positive and productive manner.
Preferences
Previous experience in commercial cleaning services or healthcare setting preferred.
Special Position Requirements
Exposure Category I: Routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Other potential hazards: cleaning chemicals, formaldehyde, chemotherapy. Position may require travel to other KHI campuses and medical buildings.
Work Requirements
Constant amounts of physical effort required during the whole shift, including: continual standing, bending, stooping, walking, pulling, and lifting (up to 20 pounds).
Operation of commercial equipment.
Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Occasional pulling of carts with up to 100 pounds.
Routine climbing of safety ladders for high cleaning and changing of cubical curtains, etc.
Tolerance to regular exposure to hospital laundry and cleaning chemicals and changes in temperature.
