Job Title: Lighting Technician C Job description summary Entry‑level position that works from aerial devices, ladders, and ground level to install and maintain streetlights and related equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

Clear work area and maintain safe jobsite conditions.

Excavate to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.

Communicate with public and private property owners about work to be performed.

May require flagging certification due to exposure to traffic.

Work on elevated surfaces.

Perform other duties related to the installation of lighting power supply.

Assist a higher‑level technician in lighting construction and maintenance.

Safely work on voltage 600 volts or less with minimal oversight.

Perform all other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.

Minimum Requirements

Must have knowledge of heavy equipment.

Ability to problem‑solve with unidentified circumstances on any job.

Must have knowledge of working with energized high voltage systems requiring specific skill set.

Must be able to climb different structures and possess the tools to do the climb.

Must be able to identify, operate and service all required tools and equipment (i.e., bucket truck, digger derrick truck, tensioners, puller, rollers, hand tamp, chain saw, concrete saw, shovel).

Education and Experience

Provide proof of work experience, schooling, and any certifications obtained during career.

Traveling Requirements

Must be willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.

Driver License

Valid CDL is preferred or willingness to obtain valid CDL within 90 days of employment. If unable, discuss during the interview process.

Safety Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must: have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools; maintain attention and concentration for extended periods; withstand exposure to all kinds of weather; wear personal protective equipment as necessary; enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day; have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain; perform job duties throughout an 8 or 10‑hour day; communicate with others; read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information; and handle conflict professionally.

Pre‑Screen

May be required to complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

Physical Requirements

Occasionally (up to 33%): Sitting, Kneeling, and Crawling

Frequently (up to 66%): Stooping, Squatting, Body Twisting, Manual Dexterity, Reading, Climbing Ladders, Climbing On/Off Truck, Climbing Poles, Gripping, and Climbing Stairs

Continuously (up to 100%): Standing, Walking, Sense of Touch, Speaking Clearly, Seeing Distant, Seeing, Reaching, Range of Motion, Hearing‑Speech Range, Depth Perception, Color Vision, Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting Over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., Balancing, Lifting Up to 10 lbs., and Lifting Up to 50 lbs.
