Job Classification: Part-time / As-Needed, At-Will, Hourly Non-Exempt Salary Range: $22 – $25 per hour (Commensurate with Experience) Primary Location: Corporate Office – 13465 Camino Canada, Ste 110C, El Cajon, CA 92021 (Provides substitute coverage across all Children's Choice sites in San Diego County) Position Summary

Children's Choice Learning Centers, a trusted early education program with multiple locations across San Diego County, is seeking reliable and caring Substitute (Floating) Teachers to provide classroom coverage for Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and School-Age programs on an as-needed basis. This position may also assist as a Teacher's Aide when needed. Floating Teachers help maintain a nurturing, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment while supporting the regular teaching staff and ensuring compliance with licensing and company policies. The ideal candidate is patient, professional, and adaptable-comfortable stepping into any classroom and providing consistent, high-quality care and supervision. Key Responsibilities

Support classroom staff in implementing daily routines and age-appropriate activities. Supervise and engage with children in a warm, positive, and safe manner at all times. Assist with diapering, feeding, toileting, and nap supervision as needed (Infant/Toddler rooms). Follow lesson plans or classroom schedules provided by the lead teacher or director. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment in accordance with licensing and company standards. Communicate effectively with staff, children, and families to support continuity of care. Uphold company values of teamwork, reliability, and respect across all centers. Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old. Completion of at least 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units, including: - Child Development - Child, Family & Community - Infant & Toddler - One additional course (e.g., Program & Curriculum, Child Health & Safety, etc.) Minimum of 6 months experience in a licensed child care center (Infant, Toddler, Preschool, or School-Age). Must pass DSS background check and provide proof of current immunizations (MMR, Tdap, Influenza) and TB clearance. Current Pediatric CPR / First Aid and Mandated Reporter certificates (required or willing to obtain). Dependable, punctual, and able to work at different Children's Choice locations as needed. Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at a child's level (sitting, kneeling, bending). Able to stand for extended periods and adapt to varied classroom environments. Occasional after-hours training or meetings as required. Travel & Mileage Policy

This position may be assigned to any Children's Choice location throughout San Diego County. Mileage reimbursement applies only when traveling between two or more work sites during the same workday. Travel time between centers during the workday is paid at the employee's regular hourly rate. Commuting from home to the assigned location and back home is not eligible for mileage reimbursement.
