I. SUMMARY
This position has primary responsibility for all dropped trailer movements for the ABW warehouse and any site Copack operations. The spotter is responsible for following all safety protocols and requirements. The spotter ensures the warehouse operation continues to operate without interruption due to unavailability of trailers. They must be able to multi-task, be self-motivated, and work well under pressure. They follow all quality, food safety, food defense and safety procedures, setting the example for safe operations while meeting all business assignments and objectives.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs pre-trip inspection on the tractors (each shift prior to use):
Checking oil
Checking transmission fluid
Checking hydraulic fluid levels
Checking for leaks underneath the tractors
Mirror placement
Clearing water from the air lines
Follows ALL safety procedures and requirements:
Uses all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Wears High Visibility Vest as outer wear at all times while working
Prohibits any riders or other persons on the Yard Tractor while using
Tug tests all trailers
Slows down on yard as appropriate
Always uses both air lines
Ensures 5th wheel is flush with trailer so as not to miss the king pin
Maintain trailer lift, high enough to clear all obstacles
Verifies trailer doors are secure prior to moving trailer
Prioritizes inbounds based on Team Lead input and direction, making sure operations always has available trailers
Prioritizes outbounds by appt time or Team Lead
Communicates with Customer Service Reps. daily by providing the warehouse trailer shortage list
Depending upon workload, the spotter may perform a General Warehouse function reporting to the Warehouse Operations Team Lead

WHS Management Software
Computer skills in spread sheet and word processing software
Multi-tasking and Directing others
Trailer backing up skills
General Warehouse Operator role
IV. MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL or TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Drivers license
For Greenville and Kennesaw (KDF) sites a CDL license is required
