We are currently seeking a Special Education Teacher for a full-time position in a 3rd Grade Self-Contained Behavior Program located in the Phoenix, AZ area. The teacher will provide individualized instruction and behavioral support tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities, while monitoring progress toward IEP goals. Eligible candidates must hold Arizona Special Education certification and a valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Qualifications
Must be a certified Special Education Teacher in the state of Arizona
Bachelors degree or higher (required)
Valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card
Previous experience teaching Special Education and/or in behavior programs preferred
Responsibilities
Provide research-based specialized instruction aligned with each students IEP goals and objectives
Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction and supports as needed
Apply evidence-based teaching methods, strategies, and behavior management techniques to foster academic and behavioral growth
Develop and implement annual IEPs, including present levels, goals, services, and accommodations
Collaborate with child study teams, related service providers, and families to support student success
Coordinate delivery of special education services as outlined in IEPs
Create a structured, supportive, and positive classroom environment with emphasis on individualized instruction (including the use of technology such as iPads)
Serve as the primary point of contact for parents/guardians
Conduct evaluations and reevaluations in compliance with state and federal requirements
Provide supervision, guidance, and evaluation of educational assistants as assigned
Adhere to all district policies and state/federal regulations, including timely reporting and documentation
