Responsibilities
Assist in overseeing a workforce of Security Ambassadors.
Verify patient appointments and enforce institutional visitor policy.
Use visitor management equipment and related policies, including masking and badging.
Greet patients and visitors, assist with navigation, and monitor patient and visitor flow.
Work with Facilities Access Management technologies, including weapons detection and visitor management technology.
Recruit, interview, hire, and manage performance of Security Ambassadors.
Train and develop staff, schedule, provide direction, problem solve, and perform daily operations.
Use appropriate data to drive staffing and workload decisions.
Familiar with Mayo Policies and Procedures; keep staff informed.
Familiar with Emergency Preparedness Plan and serve as focal point for emergencies at screening checkpoints.
Ensure Ambassadors are trained to respond to emergencies.
Perform routine Ambassador functions as needed.
May be required to carry and deploy a taser.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate’s degree or three years of work in customer service, healthcare, security or related field of equivalent training/education.
Strong communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills.
Commitment to excellent customer service and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Outstanding professionalism, management skills, strong computer skills, time management skills, and ability to work independently.
Works well with and in positions of authority, fosters mutual respect and teamwork across units.
Understand and promote culture of safety; recognize staff for growth and performance.
Good judgment respecting confidentiality of patient and employee information.
Flexibility and willingness to initiate change to improve efficiency.
Knowledge of EVOLV, Resolver, EPIC, Nextiva, Microsoft Office, and related security software.
Conflict management and resolution skills.
Complete training in SIRA, Verbal Judo, and AVADE® within 6 months of hire.

Schedule Details Full time, Monday-Friday, 8-hour days (40 hours per week) scheduled between 2pm-10:30pm, but may adjusted based on the needs of the department which may include mornings, afternoons, evening, and potentially overnights.
Weekend Schedule Based on the needs of the department.

Site Description Employees are located at three major campuses: Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona; Jacksonville, Florida; Rochester, Minnesota; and Mayo Clinic Health System campuses throughout Midwestern communities, and at international locations.
