Job Duties
Develop instructional materials aligned with learning objectives, course competencies, and instructional interventions.
Provide engaging one‑to‑many virtual events that reinforce learning objectives.
Continuously develop professional skills through faculty learning community and developmental opportunities.
Deliver timely, effective one‑to‑one virtual instruction in a specific course or domain.
Facilitate student communities to support peer collaboration and faculty interaction.
Coach students one‑to‑one to help them achieve personal, academic, and career goals.
Adapt instructional and coaching practices to common and typical student needs.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Key Skills & Abilities (KSAs)
Subject‑matter expertise in the assigned math content and related skills.
Understanding of how student characteristics interact with learning needs.
Strong communication skills and ability to moderate online student communities.
Data‑driven approach to identify individual student needs and deliver proactive support.
Demonstrated respect for diverse perspectives.
Adaptability to modify resources, templates, and instructional plans for individual students or groups.
Application of adult learning principles in virtual one‑to‑one settings.
Encouragement of student self‑reflection and metacognition.
Flexibility in instructional approach and outreach timing, modality, and frequency.
Active listening, emotional intelligence, and relationship building skills.
Coaching strategies supporting personal, academic, and professional development.
Commitment to regular self‑reflection and equity improvement.
Proficiency in developing engaging presentation materials and formative assessments.
Ability to facilitate synchronous student interaction in virtual environments.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in a math‑related field and applicable licenses or certifications.
18 graduate math credit hours (official or unofficial transcripts required).
Three years of relevant professional experience, including at least one year of teaching math.
Demonstrated subject‑matter expertise in assigned content or practice area(s).
Preferred Qualifications
Terminal degree and applicable domain‑specific licenses or certifications.
Strong experience with distance education and distance‑learning students.
Subject‑matter expert in linear algebra and differential equations.
