Position Overview Pivotal Sports Performance is seeking a motivated, energetic Sports Performance Coach to join our coaching team. This role is ideal for a coach who is passionate about athletic development, committed to continuous learning, and eager to make a meaningful impact both on and off the floor.
Coaches will deliver structured speed, strength, and performance training while representing the Pivotal brand with professionalism, energy, and integrity. Coaches will have opportunities to train a variety of clientele, bringing in new clients or working with current clients. Clientele includes:
High School, Middle School and Youth Athletes
Professional Athletes
Adults ranging from 25 to 75 years old
Coaches will have access to all of our technology, including:
Perch Velocity Based Training
Hawkins Force Plates
Shredmil
Swift Timing gates and jump mats
Key Responsibilities Coaching & Training
Deliver high‑quality group, team, private, and Athletic Development (ADP) training sessions as scheduled.
Implement Pivotal’s Athletic Speed & Strength Development Program, including:
Speed and mechanics
Multidirectional movement
Strength and power training
Energy system development
Prepare for and study all assigned programming and workouts.
Demonstrate movements clearly and coach with confidence and clarity.
Progress athletes safely through appropriate regressions and progressions.
Build strong relationships with athletes and families.
Connect with at least one athlete intentionally each day.
Maintain a positive, motivating training environment.
Uphold professional conduct and communication at all times.
Professional Development
Participate in weekly coaches team meetings, weekly 1:1 check‑ins with the Director of Sports Performance, and monthly continuing education meetings.
Maintain required certifications and pursue continued education.
Engage in learning through reading, shadowing, and mentorship.
Schedule & Availability
Flexible hours based on scheduled sessions, programming, and events.
Coaches must provide availability for assigned free evaluations as needed.
Coverage for sessions during time off is the coach’s responsibility.
Qualifications
Background in strength & conditioning, athletic performance, or related field.
Current or pursuing certification such as
CSCS, USAW, NASM , or equivalent.
CPR/AED certification (required).
Ability to coach athletes of varying ages and skill levels.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
High energy, professionalism, and commitment to Pivotal’s core values.
Compensation & Structure
This position is a
1099 Independent Contractor
role.
Compensation is session‑based and/or revenue‑split depending on the type of training.
Rates and structures are communicated in advance of scheduled sessions.
Payment is processed monthly based on completed session logs.
