Responsible for providing heavy‑duty cleaning services within the manufacturing plant and warehouse. Operate floor scrubber and floor buffer; empty plant floor trash containers; empty cardboard containers; sweep plant floor daily; assist in cleaning chemical spills; monitor supplies and report spills, leaks, equipment malfunctions, and safety hazards to the production supervisor and/or maintenance manager.
Essential Functions
Run floor scrubber and floor buffer as needed.
Empty plant floor trash containers and advise maintenance manager when the trash dumpster is full.
Empty all cardboard containers on the plant floor and take cardboard to the recycling dumpster outside the facility.
Sweep the plant floor daily removing dust from the plant floor.
Assist in cleaning up chemical spills as required. Follow safety guidelines.
Monitor supplies of floor cleaner, trash bags, and floor buffer scrubber pads; notify maintenance manager when supplies need restocking.
Report all spills, leaks, equipment malfunctions, and safety hazards to the production supervisor and/or the maintenance manager.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent; in lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education may be considered.
5 years’ janitor experience in an industrial environment.
Preferred Requirements
Forklift certification.
Must be capable of wearing company‑standard respirators as qualified by a fit test performed by an authorized agency.
Physical Requirements
Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear.
Stand, walk and reach with hands and arms frequently.
Sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
Regularly lift or move up to 10–25 pounds; frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Occasional exposure to various manufacturing chemicals.
Consistent wearing of safety glasses, gloves, long pants, closed‑toe shoes; additional PPE may be required depending on chemicals or materials handled.
