Davis Waldorf School: Class Teacher Position
Are you passionate about working with children? We are looking for a qualified individual to join our Faculty as a Class Teacher. This is a full time, benefited position.
The Class Teacher delivers the Waldorf grades curriculum in a lively, age-appropriate manner. We are looking for a teacher who has strong communication skills, knowledge of child development, and is interested in using a diversity and social justice framework when developing and implementing curriculum.
The position requires a deep understanding and grounding in the foundations of Waldorf education, as well as the ability to:
Plan daily, weekly, and block rhythms of the year. Plans are developed in accordance with the principles of Waldorf pedagogy and in light of the needs of the class.
Deepen their understanding of Anthroposophy and child development, and seek out new materials for their teaching.
Commit to faculty responsibilities including weekly meetings in your grades section group, weekly faculty meetings, and regular committee service.
Build a healthy class community.
The Davis Waldorf school teaches 220 children from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. We are in our 39th year and have been experiencing healthy enrollment, ongoing growth, and strong support from our community. We have a strong, trained and experienced faculty and a supportive parent body. We have a robust specialty program that includes Spanish, Handwork, Games, Strings, Music, Gardening and Woodworking. Our staff members are creative, experienced and committed, and we look forward to welcoming you into our warm and caring community!

Position Details:
Full‑time and salaried, beginning July 1st.
Our pay scale ranges from $53,000 – $90,000 annually, based on years of experience and education.
Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition remission, 403(b) match of 5% and a continuing education stipend.
Minimum Qualifications:
1‑2 years of relevant classroom experience
Completion of, or current enrollment in, a Waldorf Teacher Training program
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience in a Waldorf school and completed Waldorf Training Certification
Our school utilizes a dual looping track. We are currently identifying whether this position will be for the lower or upper grades. We encourage anyone who is called to DWS to apply.
