The Technician III supports and maintains computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. Responsibilities include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and equipment, troubleshooting problems, and providing end‑user training and assistance. Essential Job Functions
Work with end users to identify and deliver required PC services. Act as a liaison and provide training and support to end users and staff. Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end‑user workstation hardware and networking devices. Perform on‑site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of semi‑complex PC problems, recommending corrective hardware solutions. Receive and respond to calls, pages, and e‑mails regarding PC and hardware problems. Maintain an inventory of peripheral equipment. Document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal. Construct, install, and test customized configurations based on operating systems. Recommend, schedule, and perform PC and hardware upgrades, repairs, and improvements. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of hardware contracts and supervise contract‑based installations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Detailed understanding of Windows, Mac, and Unix operating systems. Strong customer service orientation and ability to explain technical subjects to non‑technical audiences. In‑depth understanding of IT principles and concepts. Basic knowledge of project management and ability to work with management to establish accountability methods. Demonstrated flexibility, discretion, and negotiation skills with customers and colleagues. Physical Abilities
The work is sedentary with occasional light walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items. Work Schedule and Conditions
Work is performed in a climate‑controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards. Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary and Benefits
