Reports to the AOS Site Lead and serves as the on-site authority for all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) activities supporting the Aircraft Operations Support (AOS) task area at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC). Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Contractor’s Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Plan (SHEMP) and ensuring compliance with NASA, FAA, OSHA, and AS9100/9110 requirements. Promotes a proactive safety culture that protects personnel, equipment, and the environment while supporting mission readiness.**Essential Duties**Oversee all site safety and environmental programs, including confined space, lockout/tagout, fall protection, PPE, hazardous materials, and emergency preparedness. Environmental Compliance Implement programs ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including hazardous waste handling, spill response, recycling, and pollution prevention. Coordinate waste disposal and ensure compliance with EPA and AFRC environmental requirements. Support the preparation and maintenance of Environmental Management System (EMS) documentation in accordance with ISO 14001 principles.Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910/1926 standards and NASA-specific occupational health requirements. **Supervisory Responsibilities** While this role may not have direct reports, the EHS Coordinator provides functional oversight and guidance to all AOS personnel, including Yulista employees, subcontractors, and visitors. Collaborates closely with the Training Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, and Maintenance Manager to ensure sitewide adherence to all EHS policies and procedures. **Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**- Deep understanding of OSHA, EPA, NASA, and DoD safety and environmental compliance requirements.- Strong working knowledge of AS9100/9110 and ISO 14001 management systems.Experience developing and implementing EHS programs in aircraft maintenance, modification, or industrial operations.- Excellent communication and leadership skills to foster engagement across all workforce levels.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS reporting systems; experience using incident-tracking databases.- Ability to analyze data and prepare reports, briefings, and presentations for management and Government customers.**Required Qualifications**Education: Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field; equivalent military or technical experience accepted.- Experience: Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible EHS experience, including 3 years in an aerospace, manufacturing, or maintenance environment.- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of NASA Safety and Health Plan (SHEMP) requirements and FAA/NASA mishap investigation procedures.- Other: Must pass background check and drug screening; ability to respond to after-hours incidents and emergencies.**EEO STATEMENT**
