WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Franciscan Physician Network is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our inpatient cardiology team in a hospitalist role at Franciscan Health Indianapolis in Indianapolis. The APP will play a critical role in the delivery of high-quality cardiovascular care, functioning independently for part of each shift with physician support available remotely.
WHAT WE NEED: Candidate having some cardiology post‑training acute care experience is preferred, not required. The candidate must have a strong focus on clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will need to work collaboratively with patients and their hospitalist physician and emergency department colleagues to coordinate and deliver the highest quality of care.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
Schedule: 7 Days On / 14 Days Off
Shifts include a mix of daytime and evening hours
No paid time off due to the extended time off between rotations
Average inpatient volume: 15‑20 patients per day
Common Diagnoses:
Atrial Fibrillation
Hypertension
Coronary Artery Disease
Heart Failure
Dyslipidemia
Daily Duties:
Manage and coordinate care for hospitalized cardiology patients
Perform comprehensive assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans
Provide critical care support and interventions as needed
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate with off‑site cardiology physicians
Document and maintain thorough and accurate medical records
Participate in care transitions and discharge planning

Qualifications:
Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA‑C) in Indiana
National certification and current DEA license required
Minimum 1‑2 years of relevant inpatient or hospitalist experience preferred
Critical care training or experience strongly preferred
Ability to work autonomously with remote physician support
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and comfort with high‑acuity care
TRAVEL IS REQUIRED: Never or Rarely
