The agency also runs the largest Meals on Wheels program and the main Emergency Shelter Services in Southern Nevada.
Position Summary The Security Supervisor is responsible for the daily oversight of the agency’s physical security operations, safeguarding CCSN personnel, property, and visitors to the campus.
Essential Responsibilities
Read, understand, implement, and enforce company policies and procedures as established by Human Resources.
Monitor all intake procedures for the overnight shelter to ensure proper procedural steps are followed.
Respond to all assistance calls and make on‑scene decisions in the best interest of the organization.
Supervise security staffing to ensure posts are properly maintained and all staff conduct themselves professionally.
Inform CCSN management members of any serious incidents that occur on campus.
Execute all directives from the Security Director, Assistant Directors, and Department Manager diligently.
Assist and conduct investigations of misdoings and damages to personnel, property, and clients.
Protect all confidential information, company property, and electronic data.
Ensure company “Safety” procedures are adhered to.
Ensure scheduled staff are properly posted, providing thorough coverage of the property.
When positioned in the overnight shelter, oversee the safety and security of all clients and staff.
Use communication skills to defuse confrontational situations (Verbal Judo), resorting to physical restraint only as a last resort.
Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Actively listen by giving full attention, asking appropriate questions, and respectfully not interrupting.
Comprehend and execute basic instructions.
Basic proficiency in computers and software (Word, Outlook, Excel).
Utilize critical thinking and logic to reach reasonable conclusions.
Verbally convey information effectively.
Possess sound judgment and the ability to work autonomously.
Record information and transfer to written reports.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with leadership abilities.
Prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED plus a minimum of 2 years security experience (preferred).
Experience working with and assisting homeless clients.
Proficiency in customer service and attention to detail.
Minimum age 18; valid Nevada ID or driver’s license required.
Flexible schedule to work after hours and weekends as needed.
Integrity, honesty, and trustworthiness essential.
Basic EMT certificate preferred.
Certified Security Supervision and Management (CSSM) preferred.
Physical Requirements
Remain alert and effective during entire shift in a 24/7 environment with internal and external patrols in all weather.
Verbal communication with clients, co‑workers, and visitors.
Operate and use office equipment (computer, keyboard, mouse).
Continuously sit, stand, and climb stairs as needed.
Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
Compensation & Benefits Compensation: $20.00 per hour. Weekends and holidays are included in the schedule.
