We’re looking for motivated people who want to join our team and grow lasting and meaningful careers with us. **Apply Now!**Our team members receive industry-leading wages and are eligible for great benefits packages:* ## Hourly Competitive Starting Pay – **$23.00/hour*** ## **$1.00/hour shift differential for 2nd shift positions*** ## Comprehensive Health Insurance, Retirement Benefits and More.Job Description – Warehouse LeadThe Warehouse Lead provides direction for Material Handlers and balances workflow for the distribution center.Core Responsibilities* Assist shift supervisors in pre-shift meetings and paperwork necessary during the shift* Plan and execute timely inbound and outbound deliveries, prioritizing resources* Responsible for escalating any issues that arise during the shift, if necessary* Ensure that employees are working safely, following all work rules, and that all required PPE are always being worn* Act as backup Wave Planner when necessary; these duties include (but are not limited to) allocating orders, releasing work to the warehouse floor, and ensuring truck turn times are within acceptable levels* Ensure that proper people are in the appropriate areas on the correct equipment to evenly complete work in queue* Other duties as assignedQualifications* High school diploma or general equivalency degree required.* One year of related experience is required. Previous lead or supervisory experience is highly desired.* Experience in a role managing multiple priorities is highly desirable* Experience with warehouse management systems is required. Candidates must have strong computer skills* Must have strong written and verbal communication skills* Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.* Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.Work Environment & Physical Demands* Regularly standing, walking, riding, carrying, twisting, bending, balancing, seeing, hearing, and handling paperwork.* Regularly lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.Smithfield is an equal opportunity employer committed to workplace diversity.
