Housekeeping Worker (Part Time)
Location: The New Jewish Home, Manhattan campus.
Job Summary Under general supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager, cleans and services building areas, moves furniture, equipment, and supplies in and around the facility.
Working Hours 22.5 hours per week, evening shift (3 pm to 11 pm). One day per week and every weekend/holiday. 5‑day orientation.
Job Duties
Clean, disinfect and sanitize all areas of the facility including corridors, common areas, lobby, offices, restrooms, stairwells, and elevators.
Collect, clean, reline receptacles and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
Clean, disinfect and sanitize resident rooms and corridors to include high touch areas such as furniture, beds, restrooms, handrails, overbed tables, and commodes using proper cleaning and disinfection techniques and chemicals.
Work with various cleaning chemicals and solutions.
Move equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placement.
Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for our residents, visitors and staff.
Remove and transport regulated medical waste in compliance with Infection Control and Blood‑borne Pathogen Policies and Procedures.
Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary, and attractive manner.
Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using chemicals and equipment.
Ensure that established infection control practices are maintained when performing all tasks.
Prior experience with maintaining floor care, corridors, dining rooms, auto‑scrub, burnish and strip & wax floors.
Requirements
HS Graduate/GED Preferred
Prior housekeeping experience preferred
