Sanitation Technician – Night Shift Location:

Seward, Nebraska

About the Role:

The sanitation technician is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary production facility, supporting site production goals. This role specializes in sanitation and housekeeping for the entire site to provide a clean, safe, and orderly environment at our Seward, Nebraska freeze‑dry pet food facility.

Responsibilities:

Work safely, complying with all safety, quality, and sanitation policies and procedures, and proactively identify and report potential safety hazards.

Perform 7 steps of sanitation consistently, effectively, and efficiently; manually clean plant processing equipment, tools, containers, and facilities; disassemble and assemble processing equipment.

Perform sanitation duties as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).

Remove product from equipment, tools, and containers using a water hose and industrial cleaners/sanitizers.

Promote a high‑quality team environment through effective teamwork and self‑management with a positive attitude.

Prioritize daily work by identifying pressing issues, communicating with direct Team Lead/Supervisor and team members, and understanding shift production plans and area awareness.

Apply knowledge of microbiological and pest‑control programs as it pertains to sanitation in the food manufacturing environment.

Collaborate with all teams at site on sanitation projects.

Complete training materials on time as assigned.

About You:

18 years of age or older.

Willing and able to work varying shifts and schedules.

Ability to work with minimal supervision and as a self‑starter.

Experience in cleaning/sanitizing equipment in a food manufacturing environment (minimum 1 year).

Physical capability to lift up to 60 pounds, climb stairs, kneel, stoop, sit, walk extensively throughout a 10‑12 hour shift.

Comfortable working indoors in a cooled sanitary environment at temperatures 45°F or below.

Able to work around loud production equipment, abrasive chemicals, and slip‑trip‑fall hazards due to water, chemicals, and product on floors.
