This role supports customers by servicing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electronic security systems in commercial environments. The Security Service Technician responds to service calls, performs preventive maintenance, and supports small projects while ensuring systems operate as designed.

Role Overview The Security Service Technician handles routine and non-routine service calls, including scheduled maintenance and emergency response. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, solid field experience, and the ability to work independently in the field while maintaining clear communication with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

Respond to service, maintenance, emergency, and after-hours calls

Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective system components

Perform preventive maintenance on installed security systems

Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues

Execute small installations, upgrades, and system modifications as needed

Complete accurate service documentation to support invoicing and job cost tracking

Provide technical assistance during system checkout for new and existing installations

Support system audits, upgrades, and customer consultations when required

Follow all federal, state, local, and company safety and compliance requirements

Communicate effectively with internal teams to support service operations

Cross-train with other technicians to support existing customer accounts

Perform additional duties as required to support service delivery

Required Experience and Systems Candidates should have hands-on experience working with some or all of the following systems, either through field experience or formal certifications:

Access Control: Lenel, S2, Software House, Genetec, AMAG, Verkada

Video Surveillance: Milestone, Avigilon, Axis, Verkada

Qualifications

Strong customer service skills with the ability to work under pressure

Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving ability in live environments

Solid understanding of electronic security systems and field service workflows

Mechanical and electrical aptitude, including use of hand and power tools

Comfortable using computers and service software, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Education High school diploma, GED, or equivalent practical experience

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly pay $30- $45 per hour, dependent on experience, technical depth and certifications.
