Machine Operator

As a Machine Operator, you will maintain and operate automated and semi‑automated machinery to produce high‑quality cannabis products, ensuring all products meet our standards, inspecting equipment readiness, and adjusting speed for safety and quality.
Responsibilities
Follow all department‑specific safety practices including the use of PPE.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of the designated work area, supporting 5S requirements.
Remain compliant with all safety training requirements.
Report safety concerns promptly, including near‑miss situations.
Perform equipment inspections, calibrations, line centering, etc.
Increase operational efficiency and reduce waste through teamwork and communication.
Meet productivity standards in a fast‑paced environment.
Follow SOPs and work instructions to complete tasks according to company standards.
Maintain and clean all equipment regularly.
Participate in trial runs, new product development projects, and training of other employees.
Maintain a positive team environment.
Perform quality assurance testing and visual inspections to ensure product meets specifications.
Ensure 100% compliance with weighing, data recording, product tracking, and security awareness.
Participate in daily communication meetings.
Escalate issues to lead, manager, and HR as appropriate.
Perform any additional tasks assigned by manager or lead.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, associate degree or certifications preferred.
Effective time‑management and multitasking skills.
Ability to work well with others and independently.
Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
Must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
Must be able to work at heights.
Prior experience running automated equipment.
Basic math and mechanical skills.
Curiosity to troubleshoot and support process improvements.
Effectively follow state and company compliance requirements.
Excellent customer service, time management, and organization skills.
Prior cannabis experience not required.
Additional Requirements
Pass all required background checks.
Remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
Minimum age 21 years.
Approved by state badging agency to work in the cannabis industry.
Working Conditions
Perform reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods maintaining focus.
Lift, carry, and balance up to 50 lbs. with care and caution when working with product.
Daily exposure to allergens such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil.
The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
Green Thumb Pay Range: $20—$21 USD
