Responsibilities
Administer prescribed medications to residents as per physician's orders and in accordance with agency policies and procedures
Monitor residents for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report concerns to nursing staff.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all medications administered, including dosages and timing.
Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for all residents.
Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of medication storage areas.
Uphold the highest standards of safety, confidentiality, and professionalism in all interactions.
Participate in training and professional development activities as required.
Observe and report any changes in residents' conditions to the healthcare team.
Be available to assist residents with activities of daily living, as needed
Requirements
Georgia Certification as a Medication Technician
Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to senior care.
Ability to observe and monitor resident conditions effectively.
Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus.
Basic understanding of medication interactions/side effects and vital sign monitoring is beneficial.
CPR and First Aid Certified (or willingness to obtain).
