About the Role The Waste Processing Technician I (WPTI) is an entry‑level position within the Sustainable Site Solutions division. The WPTI collects and processes waste material from client facilities, following direction from the Project Manager and using machinery such as forklifts, compactors, and balers. The role requires safety consciousness and knowledge of proper PPE.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment such as forklift trucks, balers, compactors, etc.

Process waste materials into like commodities or in accordance with vendor specifications.

Perform general housekeeping—sweeping, washing, and maintenance of the area(s) Reworld is responsible for.

Complete preventative maintenance paperwork for equipment.

Load and unload van trailers and/or flat beds.

Manage collection points within a client’s facility.

Demonstrate how actions support Reworld values and behaviors, including a safe and inclusive workplace, delivering results through trust, and building breakthrough capabilities.

Interact with plant personnel to determine local area needs.

Requirements

High School Diploma / GED preferred; Reworld offers a fully funded GED program.

1+ year of experience in a shipping/receiving environment.

Forklift experience preferred.

Ability to pass a respirator fit test.

Ability to demonstrate how actions support Reworld values and behaviors.

Proficiency with NetSuite.

Excellent judgment, problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and time management.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Schedule

Monday‑Friday 7 AM to 5 PM with some Saturday overtime required as needed.

Physical Demands

Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and other power tools.

Lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Kneel, crawl, stoop, bend, or twist for extended periods.

Walk, stand, or sit for extended periods.

Work near and around operating mechanical parts and mobile equipment.
