Nuclear Welder – $40.82/hr – BWXT Location: Euclid, Ohio. Shift: 2nd shift (3 pm – 11 pm) or 3rd shift (11 pm – 7 am). Salary: $40.82 per hour.

Your Day to Day as a Nuclear Welder

Perform delicate weld operations on expensive, high‑precision components and assemblies, often adapting available fixtures.

Work from approved procedures and complex blueprints in close cooperation with weld engineers, inspectors and authorized personnel.

Read and strictly comply with weld blueprints, procedures and work instructions.

Execute grinding to remove slag inclusions, excess weld, burrs or other pre‑/post‑steps required for an acceptable weld.

Attain all BWXT contract‑required welding and/or brazing certifications now and in the future.

Inspect all work with appropriate measurement instruments.

Escalate all issues/problems to supervisor for disposition.

Document and maintain all records as directed by work instructions and policies.

Clean machine, tooling and parts, and perform machine maintenance, housekeeping and other duties as assigned.

Follow all operation instructions, work rules and safety policies.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (required).

Minimum of 2 years of experience in manual and automatic gas tungsten arc and/or shield arc welding; completion of an accredited training program will be considered.

Brazing and soldering skills preferred.

Demonstrate ability to perform required skills on a test piece, if necessary.

Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, procedures and work instructions.

Maintain accurate documentation.

Obtain and maintain all applicable written exams and operations certifications.

Have necessary personal tools.

Willing and available to work any shift (2nd or 3rd).
