Overview
A Teller is more than handling deposits, cashing checks, and balancing a cash drawer. At CNB, Tellers are the face of the bank, focused on building, growing, and retaining relationships with customers and the community. Tellers provide quality customer service, answer questions, and, as relationships grow, make informed recommendations from CNB’s range of banking options. This role also supports fraud and risk management through training on current regulations and policies and by staying vigilant for potential fraud. Responsibilities Provide friendly, courteous customer service and answer customers’ questions. Build lasting relationships and identify opportunities to recommend banking options. Act on a needs-based approach to personal service and referrals. Participate in front-line fraud and risk management efforts and comply with bank policies and procedures. Qualifications A high school diploma or high school equivalency. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail. Proficiency with a PC and related programs (e.g., Microsoft Office). Strong customer service and sales experience. Cash handling skills. What a successful first year looks like Completion of 90-day Teller training. Impeccable dependability for all scheduled shifts. Ability to make qualified customer referrals as part of the Retail Referral program. Proficiency in all relevant banking systems and retail banking products. Minimal errors in processed transactions. Hours and schedule Initial schedule is 40 hours per week for the first 3 months. The part-time schedule begins after successful completion of the 90-day program. Part-time Tellers are typically scheduled 30–35 hours per week and are assigned to a regional branch as needed. Schedule: Monday–Friday 8:30–5:15; Saturday/Sunday 8:30–12:15. Two Saturdays are required per month.
