Veterinary Receptionist (Part-Time/Mat Leave)
Our receptionists are highly valued team members who are essential to the smooth running of the practice as the first point of contact for clients. The role involves a high level of face-to-face contact with our clients, so you must have the confidence, empathy, and experience to provide the standard of care and the personal touch we expect for our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Meeting and greeting clients in person and on the telephone Answering and redirecting calls Scheduling appointments on the practice computer system Processing card and monetary payments Liaising with nursing and veterinary staff Taking pride and ownership of the reception area by keeping it clean and tidy at all times Our ideal candidate will have:
Minimum of 1 year receptionist experience A friendly and approachable manner when talking to clients A fondness for animals Ability to tackle many tasks at once and perform them to a high standard Capable of working under pressure and in emergency situations Computing and IT skills Experience of working in a veterinary practice desirable, but not essential About the rota
The position is an average of 27.25 hours per week on a rota basis. The shifts will be either Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday or Wednesday Thursday and Friday on a rota basis covering a number of early and late shifts between 7:45am and 7:15pm. Saturdays will also be involved on a 2in9 basis from 8:30am-1:00pm. What you’ll be stepping into

The practice has undergone major refurbishment and expansion project, and we now have a dedicated cat only clinic that runs alongside our main surgery.
