Wellspring is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving seniors, families, and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a Family Preservation Worker to join our Families Together Building Solutions (FTBS) Program in Kentwood. In this position, you’ll be directly supporting your community in Kent County.
Responsibilities
Adhere to the Families Together Building Solutions model of service (strength-based, non-deficit approach).
Provide families with concrete services, including assistance with housing, transportation, home cleaning, maintenance, and repair.
Deliver skills training in areas such as parenting, communication, self-advocacy, and self-sufficiency.
Offer short-term counseling and crisis intervention for families in need.
Coordinate with external providers to arrange counseling, medical care, educational support, housing resources, and utility assistance.
Prepare timely documentation, including service plans, progress reports, termination summaries, goal sheets, and weekly reports.
Present cases for termination conferences and recommend follow-up services.
Maintain face-to-face contact with families at the frequency required by contract and family needs.
Maintain weekly contact with referring workers and complete follow-up evaluations at 3 and 6 months post-service.
Transport clients in your own vehicle as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social work or a human services field required.
Current and valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, and auto insurance required.
Experience working with children and families preferred.
Reliable, compassionate, and committed to providing high-quality service.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Schedule and Compensation
Employment Type: Full-time
Schedule: Flexible schedule with 24‑hour availability as needed
Hybrid-Remote: Home-based with travel throughout Kent county.
In‑Office Requirements: Weekly team meetings, trainings, and clinical supervision
Salary: $43,000 / year based on experience
Mileage Reimbursement for work‑related travel.
