Job Description

Insight Global is hiring a CNC Machinist with experience using large vertical lathes to join our client in building the next generation steam turbines and components for the Navy and commercial customers. You will be taking part in the design, manufacturing, and testing of these mission critical turbines in a state-of-the-art facility for manufacturing, machining, welding, assembly and quality inspections. If you have experience in operating vertical lathes and are open to working in Summerville, SC then this position will be perfect. Responsibilities include: Set up and operate large vertical turret lathes to perform precision machining to tolerances within 0.001

Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements

Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications

Select appropriate tooling and materials for each job

Maintain machines, perform minor repairs, and report mechanical issues to maintenance

Monitor the machining process and make necessary adjustments to feeds, speeds, and tooling

Document production and inspection results accurately

Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment

The compensation for this position ranges between an average of $55,000 to $86,000 per year depending on experience. 3 years in CNC machining experience operating vertical lathes

Ability to maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level and effectively communicate with others

Lifting objects weighing 50 pounds to waist height and transporting 10 feet

Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approvals

High school diploma or equivalent – Completion of a four‑year machinist apprenticeship or equivalent is an asset

Experience operating Fives/G&L 1600, 2000, and Momentum 2500 is preferred
