Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Underground Engineering Technician at our Turquoise Ridge operations. The successful candidate will ensure effective, timely delivery of technical support and QA/QC needs for all underground needs by enabling the Engineering Department Support Group to deliver results meeting or exceeding our business goals in a safe, sustainable manner. Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, the Underground Engineering Technician is responsible for the following:
Ensure effective, timely delivery of technical support and QA/QC needs for all underground needs by enabling the Engineering Department Support Group to deliver results meeting or exceeding our business goals in a safe, sustainable manner.
QA/QC of ground support (shotcrete and CRF strength testing, bolt pulls, gradation analyses, shotcrete slump testing)
Installation, maintenance, trouble shooting, and reporting of UG instrumentation.
Participation in safety audits, training, and scheduling.
Maintenance of all testing records, in both paper and digital format.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous Blasting experience preferred
Meet Federal and State eligibility requirements on handling explosives required
Valid Nevada drivers’ license required
Explosive handling experience, especially in a mining environment preferred
Heavy equipment operating experience preferred
Ability to carry at least 50 pounds required
Excellent verbal, written, and radio communication skills required
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team required
Satisfactory safety, performance, and attendance records required
