Overview Element is seeking a

Senior Electro Dynamics Service Technician

for the Technical Services Group (TSG) within Element Product Qualification Testing (PQT).

You will manage all service and repair needs for a fleet of over 50 electrodynamic systems, traveling frequently to 10+ key locations across the U.S. and Canada.

This role requires 70‑80% travel time, including overnight stays, weekend work, and short‑notice trips.

You will work from one of our primary dynamics test facilities—Huntsville, Alabama; Boxborough, Massachusetts; or Longmont, Colorado—while supporting the entire North American region.

Salary: $45–$55/hr DOE.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, maintain, and repair ED shaker systems from a variety of manufacturers, including Unholtz‑Dickie, Ling Dynamic Systems, IMV, MB Dynamics, and Ling.

Troubleshoot and repair complex issues, disassemble, clean, inspect components such as flexures, shear mounts, bearings, and field coils, and replace or repair worn or defective parts.

Implement a yearly shaker and amplifier maintenance program.

Ensure safe and correct operation of shaker systems, establishing and enforcing safety requirements to mitigate identified hazards.

Document all maintenance and repair work performed on the shaker systems.

Skills / Qualifications

5–10+ years of experience repairing and maintaining electrodynamic shaker systems.

U.S. citizenship or green card holder with a valid passport.

Strong mechanical knowledge to perform detailed physical repairs.

Strong electrical knowledge of amplifiers, field supplies, and control systems.

Methodical diagnostic skills to identify complex problems and devise effective solutions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain complex technical information to colleagues and customers.

Experience with common shaker system brands and associated control hardware is highly beneficial.

Effective communication with part vendors to ensure timely delivery and proper ordering.

Knowledge or experience with the maintenance and repair of electrohydraulic shakers is a plus.

Strong organizational skills.
