Job Overview The Shuttle Driver/Tour guide is responsible for following safety protocol, schedules and pre-determined routes. The driver will also act as the tour guide throughout the trip. The vehicle used is open‑air, treads a trailer through narrow roadways, holds 62 passengers, is electric, and runs off batteries.
Responsibilities
Exceptional attendance and punctuality
Accurately complete vehicle safety checks and escalate any issues
Compliance with all traffic laws, federal and state transit regulations
Interact with customers, central dispatch team, and managers in a professional manner
Provide excellent customer service and support to all riders, answering questions about schedules, routes, transfer points, and delays
Promptly report vehicle maintenance, road and route concerns, accidents, and other traffic disruptions using two‑way radios or hands‑free devices
Additional duties and responsibilities may apply
Plug and charge the vehicle at end of day
Skills and Physical Demands
Use route navigation apps and have knowledge of the area for pick‑ups and drop‑offs
Maintain electronic logs to track routes and incidents
Operate and drive without a break for a minimum period of one hour and forty‑five minutes
Drive in fluctuating weather and terrain
Work flexible schedule outside of regular days and shifts
Comfortable with split shift schedule
Lift 45 pounds or more to assist with loading and unloading ADA passengers
Additional skills and physical demands may apply
Education and Qualifications
Commercial driver’s license (A or B)
Airbrake endorsement
Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug test, and background check
High School Diploma/GED (preferred)
At least 1 year of driving experience (preferred)
