The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair in support of production equipment and the facility. In this role, the technician will work with a variety of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and controls. Logical‑thinking and troubleshooting skills are critical. This position is critical to the safe and efficient operation of the facility.

General working hours are Monday through Thursday, 4:00am – 2:30pm, with additional overtime available on Fridays, as business needs evolve.

What You’ll Do – Maintenance

Safety: Always ensure the complete physical safety of oneself and one’s co‑workers without exception

Assist the production team with efficient day starts and equipment performance through the day.

Inspect machinery: Knowledge of machine equipment for proper performance and to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose malfunctions using testing equipment to determine the required repair.

Perform machine repair and maintenance, possibly including corrections and alterations, to ensure it remains in a proper productive state.

Assist with or perform the troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and plumbing systems.

Perform general facility maintenance tasks as required.

Determine material, equipment, and supplies needed for daily maintenance functions and ensure work orders are completed accurately, timely, and cost effectively.

Ensure plant preventative maintenance programs are supported and maintained.

Assist in maintaining chemical and repair parts inventory.

Education / Experience / Competencies

Education/Training: High school education or equivalent preferred; additional mechanic training or trade school degree preferred.

New graduates from tech programs encouraged to apply.

Minimum 1‑year job‑related experience.

Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and other systems.

Solid problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.

Ability to work in a team environment on a variety of complex projects.

Good interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.

Well‑developed written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to identify problems and react appropriately.

Proficiency with a wide range of tools and applications.

Physical and Mental Demands

The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Manufacturing – Work is performed in a manufacturing plant. The Team Member may sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste or smell.

The Team Member will frequently walk and stand.

Must be able to regularly lift up to 55 lbs and push/pull up to 75 lbs.

Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevations above 4 feet.

Working Environment

The work environment is a manufacturing plant. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Team members are occasionally exposed to wet conditions and cold temperatures. They are regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required depending on the job: protective eyewear, face shields, hearing protection, hair/beard nets, uniforms and footwear, and additional equipment when working with chemicals such as rubber gloves and chemical proof aprons.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation range: $35 – $40 per hour, DOE
