POSITION Shipping & Receiving Inspector

LOCATION Jupiter/Stuart

STATUS: Hourly, Non-exempt

JOB SUMMARY The purpose of this position is to provide packaging and product verification services in accordance with established guidelines and procedures, to ensure a safe and efficient operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Unpack/Pack product in accordance with PSM specifications and work instructions, ensuring that product is secure for transport.

Verify that product is adequately packaged and that all material is present prior to shipment to customer.

Perform computer entry work in our network and databases, scan documentation, and upload photographs.

Visually inspect serial numbers and part condition to verify if parts are acceptable.

Document findings from inspection activities according to established procedures.

Operate small cranes and forklift to move equipment, parts, and material.

Create accurate box labels.

Build, modify, and paint shipping and storage containers.

Maintain good housekeeping in the work area to keep it free from safety hazards.

Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment and tools.

Ensure safe operations of forklift and pallet jacks.

Follow Environmental Health and Safety regulations while working in a fast‑paced environment.

Continually improve operations and the working environment through 5S methodology.

Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education & Training

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for the work area as described by PSM's EHS Training Matrix.

Skills / Experience

1+ years of manufacturing or production experience with specific skills related to inspection of parts and/or material handling.

1+ years of experience in a production, storage, or manufacturing environment.

Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Basic knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP (or other production tracking system), and time‑keeping applications.

Physical Requirements

Stooping/Crouching – bending body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.

Kneeling – bending legs at the knee to rest on knee or knees.

Crawling – moving on hands and knees or hands and feet.

Reaching – extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Standing – particularly for sustained periods of time.

Walking – moving on foot to accomplish tasks, especially for long distances or moving from one work area to another.

Pushing & Pulling – moving objects horizontally or from lower to higher positions.

Lifting up to 50 lbs. – raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving them horizontally.

Grasping – applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

Repetitive motion – substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Close visual acuity required for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembling or fabricating parts at close distances to the eyes.

Exposure to noise sufficient to require shouting to be heard above ambient levels.

Exposure to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, high heat, or chemicals.

May require short‑notice travel by air or ground.

Must be able to wear required PPE such as respirators, Tyvek suits, gloves, face shields, etc.

Ability to cooperate and work with people.
