Overnight Kitchen Cleaner (Dishwasher / Heavy Cleaning)
Parkwest Casino is looking for an experienced Overnight Kitchen Cleaner to keep our casino and restaurant areas clean. The qualified candidate will assist us by cleaning and sanitizing all kitchen and restaurant areas, ensuring a clean and safe environment for our guests and staff.
Responsibilities
Cleans and maintains floor mats and degreaser; ensures drains are properly cleaned and maintained.
Wash, degrease and scrub all floors.
Cleans all exhaust hoods and removable vents. Keeps all stoves, ovens, salamanders, grills and fryers clean.
Thoroughly wash, sanitize and polish all stainless‑steel equipment and countertops, including legs and the inside/outside of the shelves.
Overall responsibility for cleanliness of floors, walk‑ins, freezers, drains, floor mats, grease traps and garbage disposals. Operates dishwashing machine.
Performs kitchen washing services and meets required standards of performance by following policies, procedures, work instructions, training initiatives, codes of conduct and other directives.
Specific tasks may include, but are not limited to, emptying trash containers, cleaning any and all kitchen facilities, assisting with inventories, performing any assigned duties in other kitchen areas, etc.
Reports unsafe conditions or machine malfunctions to the immediate supervisor and/or department head immediately.
Ensures proper and economical use of equipment, supplies and facilities.
Maintains a clean and safe work area.
Represents Parkwest Casino well in all contacts. Maintains cultural sensitivity at all times.
Performs duties on all shifts, supporting a 24/7 environment.
Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
Must be available to work any shift including weekends, holidays, on call and overtime when needed.
Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a California Food Handler Card.
Must be able to pass mandatory screening including a background check and drug test.
Able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and co‑workers.
Able to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Available for full time work including weekends and evening scheduling; ready for all programs and activities. Able to work varied shifts and flexible schedules.
Able to communicate clearly with team members.
Requires ability to multi‑task effectively.
Able to work independently and within a team environment.
Education No specific education required. High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
Experience One‑two years of experience in a kitchen of comparable quality is preferred but not required.
Physical & Mental Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 50 pounds.
Position requires repetitive use of hands for simple and power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing & pulling and reaching for the entire shift.
Position may expose the employee to excessive noise, dust, gas, flames, chemicals, and extremes in temperature, humidity or wetness.
Must be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation.
