Position Overview JBS is hiring an hourly
Machine Operator
Team Member. The role starts at $18.65 per hour, with pay increases after machine competence is achieved. Multiple machines are available.
Key responsibilities include making precise adjustments, basic troubleshooting, and modifying or creating programs based on equipment, product, and customer needs. Operators serve as the last quality checkpoint before the product reaches both internal and external customers. Safe operation in accordance with food safety, GMP, and quality standards is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Lift at least 50 pounds overhead repeatedly.
Prepare work area for pre‑ and post‑operational activities.
Load, unload, and transfer product to and from equipment and conveyors.
Monitor production lines, identify issues, and replenish packaging materials as needed.
Sort, weigh, wrap, label, and verify product against specifications.
Ensure product is correctly placed in bags and machines to avoid seal issues.
Inspect and remove defective products and packaging from the process.
Arrive at the workstation prepared to perform tasks on schedule and remain until tasks are completed.
Overtime may be required and is expected when scheduled.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Set up, tear down equipment, select pre‑determined settings, and use proper lifting, bending, and reaching techniques.
Perform additional duties as assigned, including identifying safety concerns or hazards and reporting them.
Perform Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
Modify and create program settings to meet production standards.
Make machine adjustments and troubleshoot when required.
Read and complete labels in English.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
At least 2 years of production industry experience.
At least 2 years of machine operating experience.
Ability to understand and comply with company, plant, and safety rules/policies.
Basic understanding of production and procedures.
Ability to use knives, saws, and a variety of machinery.
Capability to lift, load, cut, and package product using both arms and hands.
