At EWI, the Maintenance Technician works with the Lead Maintenance Technician and Maintenance Manager to support the repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of lab/facilities equipment and machinery. The customer support level in this role is important as a need for quickness and precision in executing work and delivering results is critical to the success of EWI projects and satisfying the customer. The Maintenance Technician also contributes to the development and execution of the facility's preventative maintenance program. In addition to facilities support, they might work on industrial welding and forming equipment, robotics, as well as CNC workstations to support the EWI business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Support Maintenance Tech by completing PMs of lab equipment
Assist with the installation and removal of facilities and lab equipment
Assist with the development of facilities preventative maintenance schedules
Assist with special projects (lab moves, power runs, plumbing, duct work, etc.)
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment
Apply knowledge and demonstrated expertise in the troubleshooting and execution of repairs and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment
Manage and maintain accurate and legible records of project work; equipment repair logs and specifications/blueprints
Achieve and strive for highest quality standards in work
Continuously meet and occasionally exceed (where necessary) project schedules and customer expectations and needs
Achieve established work-area cleanliness standards and maintain a high-degree of organization in work area(s)
Perform work in a safe manner and adhere to safety programs, processes, and procedures set forth for the specific process and for company safety programs in general
Shipping and Receiving support as needed
Minimum Requirements KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Demonstrated expertise and in-depth of knowledge in the use and repair of electrical/mechanical systems
Demonstrated expertise with facilities related systems (HVAC, cooling towers, chillers, boilers, plumbing, etc.)
Working knowledge of and adept at troubleshooting industrial welding and forming equipment, as well as CNC workstations/robots
Working knowledge of and experience with electrical controls, preferably related to modern machine tools (inputs, outputs, custom M-codes, ladder logic, etc.)
Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to work well with ever-changing priorities and/or situations
Exhibit and maintain positive, solutions-oriented attitude toward work and co-workers
Excellent organizational skills and ability to work well under stress, despite numerous interruptions
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in assigned tasks on a consistent basis
Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of associates
Team-oriented attitude and focus with strong ability to collaborate with others
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Laboratory/light production floor with ventilation, climate-control system, moderate lighting, and moderate noise level;
Use finger dexterity to type, adjust, move, handle, perform, operate, install, attach, remove, apply, grasp, manipulate, and measure;
Frequently move, transport, rotate, reach, pull, twist, adjust position, push, stoop, bend, and crouch; and
Lift ten to 40 pounds on a frequent basis and 40 to 80 pounds occasionally
EDUCATION
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Associate's Degree in applicable technical field is a considered a plus
EXPERIENCE
Four (4) or more years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing facility performing facility support and maintenance
Experience with maintaining a preventative maintenance program for a facility's electro-mechanical equipment
Formal industrial training
