Contact Center Representative – Contract to Hire

Description First half of the month will be taking inbound calls from mortgage borrowers regarding payment, escrow, and general mortgage servicing questions.

Second half of the month, will be taking similar calls and about 20% of each day will be spent on an auto‑dialer reminding borrowers of their payments. Will ask if they want to make the payment via phone. NOT COLLECTIONS.

Demonstrate positivity, courtesy, and helpfulness when dealing with every homeowner.

Responsibilities

Take inbound calls from mortgage borrowers regarding payment, escrow, and general mortgage servicing questions.

Perform outbound collection activities on accounts less than 30 days past due, and sometimes account with higher delinquencies, while not handling collections.

Engage with Valon customers across a variety of inbound customer requests – website assistance, escrow, processing payoffs.

Offer and refer eligible homeowners for refinancing opportunities to the Originations department.

Understand escalation paths for different types of calls and dynamically route them to appropriate internal parties.

Meet performance expectations, including QA, 1st call resolution, adherence rate, call‑center seat time (wrap time 1‑3 mins).

Utilize internal software platform and contribute to system recommendations.

Experience

Call center or mortgage servicing experience.

Skills

Customer service.

Inbound and outbound call handling.

Data entry.

Finance / banking / mortgage knowledge.

Adaptability to different personality types.

Proficiency with proprietary servicing software.

Elevated proficiency in English; bilingual advantage.

Additional Requirements

No job hoppers or employment gaps greater than one year.

Must have RFL for all positions.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Attendance at mandatory 3‑week on‑site training (Mon‑Fri, 9 AM‑6 PM): contract will need signing of attendance contract.

Training (Mandatory)

3 weeks on‑site Mon‑Fri, 9 AM‑6 PM.

Location: Phoenix – first 2nd shift 9‑6 PM, after daylight savings shift changes to 8‑5 PM.

Pay $19.50/hr or $20.50/hr if bilingual.
